#2 Digital Manipulation of Sketch

For this work I sketched the Coors bottle with graphite pencil, scanned it and then pulled it into an image editing program and did a stained class filter.

#1 Digital Manipulation of Coors Classic

Yes I know it is mass produced and I do not drink it much at all because.... well you know, and if you don't I don't want to spoil it for you. However, when I was growing up it was an icon. Colorado Rocky Mountains and a great American story - the company deserves to be celebrated even if I do not drink the beer any more.

99 Works of Beer Art for 2009

Sudden inspiration from the Beer Can Blog's post 31 Flavors for January has moved me to set a goal for 2009. 31 works of beer art in one month is a bit to much since I am working two jobs at the moment. However, if I push myself to be creative and in the studio more I can do 99 works of beer art for the year. Working 11 months (with one month off to organize studio) that would be average of 9 a month.

These will be a experimental pieces using new processes and materials and even digital manipulations of photos. Just as beer is for me a time to sit back relax and try new flavors. This series of beer art will be a time to have fun and enjoy the process of creating. The post will be numbered starting with #1 and going to #99. Will work on making them available as prints later on.
